Welcome To The CRCD

The University Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) Centre for Research on Communicable Diseases (CRCD) was established on 15 July 2017. The CRCD secretariat is presently associated with the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS).

In line with the government’s mission to strengthen research activities and be more involved in the development of the nation and the region, the Centre is established to encourage all academic staff and graduate students to contribute towards a vibrant research culture and nation building.

The CRCD will strive to become a Centre of Excellence in communicable diseases research, focusing on improving our understanding of the epidemiology, microbiology, immunology, pathogenesis, treatment, prevention and control of communicable diseases of national as well as global importance.
